A ChatGPT for Discord that can change your server

ChatGPT can tell you which Discord settings to change, but its chat cannot change them. Bond is an AI bot you talk to the same way, and it makes the change.

Bond is an AI Discord bot you talk to the way you talk to ChatGPT, and in Discord it changes the server itself: channels, roles, permissions, AutoMod rules, welcome messages, scheduled posts and server settings. Mention @Bond in any channel, or use its web dashboard, and say what you want. It checks your own Discord permissions on every action and asks before the bigger changes.

Why ChatGPT on its own cannot change your server

ChatGPT knows Discord well. Ask it how to make a channel only moderators can see, and it will walk you through Edit Channel, Permissions, the @everyone overwrite and the role you add. Then you do the clicking.

It cannot do the clicking for you, because ChatGPT's chat has no access to your server. A change in Discord has to come from an account that is in the server and holds the permission for that change: you, a moderator, or a bot. A chat in a browser tab is none of those.

So "ChatGPT for Discord" can mean two things:

  • A bot in your server that you talk to like ChatGPT. It is a member of the server, with its own role, and it makes the changes itself. That is what Bond is.
  • ChatGPT itself, connected to your server through an MCP server, a standard way for AI apps to use outside tools. The MCP server makes the change. Bond runs one of those too, covered below.

What Bond changes when you ask

You write in plain English, in the channel you are already in:

@Bond make a private #staff-chat that only Mods and Admins can see
@Bond add an AutoMod rule blocking invite links, except for mods
@Bond post the weekly event schedule in #announcements every Monday at 9am IST
@Bond which roles can ban members, and what changed in the audit log this week?

Each of those is a real change or a real read. Bond reads the server first, so it reuses the channels and roles you have instead of making second copies, and it picks from its tool catalog for each request: channels and categories, roles and permissions, messages, members, moderation, threads, events, voice, AutoMod, automations, custom slash commands and the server's own settings.

For a whole server at once, describe it in one message and Bond shows a plan before it builds: see Bond as an AI Discord server builder.

What it will not do without you

An assistant that can change your server needs limits, and these are Bond's:

  • Every action is checked against the Discord permissions and role position of the person who asked, so nobody can use Bond to do what they could not do by hand.
  • A bigger change comes as a plan or a card naming what will change, and waits for your yes. Small changes that are easy to undo, such as a new channel or a rename asked for by the owner or an admin, go ahead without a card while auto mode is on, which it is unless the owner or an admin turns it off on the dashboard. Always allow on a card skips that kind of card from then on.
  • Deleting a channel, a role or a batch of messages asks for approval on the exact things Bond found, by name.
  • Bond never opens up @everyone or another role's permissions so that its own action succeeds.
  • Bond's install link on bondbot.gg asks for specific permissions, not Administrator.

It also answers only when someone mentions it, replies to it or runs one of its commands. It does not watch your channels and act on its own, unless you set it up to, for example with an automation.

Using ChatGPT or Claude itself

If you would rather stay in Claude, add Bond's MCP server as a custom connector and sign in with Discord. Claude can then read your server and make everyday changes through Bond, such as posting messages, editing channels, scheduling events and building automations, as you and inside your permissions. ChatGPT takes custom MCP servers in developer mode, which not every plan or workspace has, and the MCP page has the steps.

The hosted MCP server keeps a whole class of bigger changes switched off for now, including deletes, moderation, roles and permissions, AutoMod rules and server settings. The MCP page lists exactly which tools are off. For those, talk to Bond in Discord, where each one asks first.

What it costs

Every Bond tool is on the free plan. A free account gets 1M tokens a week on Light. Paid plans start at $7.99 a month and add Ultra, which Bond uses for the longer jobs. An automation Bond built, such as a welcome message or a scheduled post, runs without using tokens. See pricing.

Questions

Does Bond read every message in my server?

No. Bond holds Discord's Message Content intent, and it uses a message's text only when someone mentions or replies to it, when an automation an admin built needs it, or when a member asks it to read a channel they can already open. Any member can run /opt-out to keep their messages out of what it reads for the AI.

Can Bond change server settings like the verification level?

Yes, in Discord. Ask it to raise the verification level, change the server's name or icon, edit the welcome screen or turn on Onboarding questions, and it does, after checking that you hold the permission each change needs.

Is Bond ChatGPT?

No. Bond is its own product, a Discord bot made by the team at bondbot.gg. It works the way a chat assistant does, in plain English and in any language you type in, but it lives in your server and acts there.

Try it on your own server.

Add Bond, mention it in any channel, and describe what you want. It shows you what it is about to change before it changes anything.
