Custom Bot Service Provider Agreement

Last updated 4 October 2026

Agreement version 2026-10-04.

This agreement is between you, the owner of a Discord application, and Bond. It applies when you ask Bond to run that application in your server as a custom bot. You accept it in the Bond dashboard before Bond starts your bot, and a new version has to be accepted before the next time your bot is resumed or moved. A new version never stops a bot that is already running. Bond's Terms of Service apply alongside it.

1. Roles

You are the developer of this application under Discord's Developer Terms of Service. Bond is your Service Provider under section 12(a) of those terms and acts on your behalf.

2. Purpose

Bond uses Discord's APIs, and the data it receives through your application, only for you and at your direction. It uses them to run your application in the one server you chose, and for no other purpose, including Bond's own.

Your settings in the Bond dashboard are your direction. So are the requests members make to your bot within those settings.

There is one exception, made at the member's own direction: when a member runs /opt-out or /opt-in through your bot, Bond applies that choice everywhere Bond runs.

3. What Bond does not do

Bond does not train any model on this data. The language model is OpenAI's or, for some requests, Anthropic's Claude; each request goes to OpenAI or Anthropic directly or through OpenRouter, which limits it to model hosts that do not train on what they receive. Neither OpenAI nor Anthropic trains on what Bond sends it. Image generation, web search and a member's own ChatGPT connection work as they do on Bond's own app, under the terms the privacy policy lists for them.

Bond does not use the data in its review of conversations, in growth or product analytics, in tests or evaluation sets, or in marketing or public figures. It shares the data only with the processors the privacy policy lists for running your bot. It never uses your token with any other application.

4. Your part

  • Keep your Developer Portal profile accurate, and never present the app as Bond, Discord or anyone else
  • Keep Public Bot off, and use the app only in the server you chose
  • Keep the "Powered by Bond · bondbot.gg" line in its About Me. Bond puts it back if it is removed
  • Link a privacy policy in the portal. Bond's policy covers this bot, at bondbot.gg/privacy#custom-bots
  • Answer Discord's intent reviews, audits and attestations for your app. Bond gives you accurate answers to use
  • Decide yourself whether to turn on Message Content, in the portal
  • You stay responsible to Discord for your app. This agreement cannot change that

5. Members

When a member of your server asks for their data to be deleted, Bond handles the request for you, as section 5(b)(2)(d) of the Developer Terms asks. Members can report problems with the bot by writing to contact@bondbot.gg, the contact address on Bond's privacy policy, which the bot's /help reply links to.

6. Security

Bond encrypts your token at rest, never shows it back, and uses it only inside the process that runs your bot. The key and the data are on the same host, so encryption protects copies of the database, not a compromise of the host.

If Bond learns of unauthorized access to your token or your bot's data, it will:

  • log your bot out
  • delete the stored token
  • tell you
  • notify Discord, as section 5(c) of the Developer Terms asks

Only you can reset the token, in the Developer Portal.

7. Stopping

You stop using Bond for this app in any of these ways:

  • you switch the server back to Bond's own app
  • you remove the bot from the server and do not bring it back within 21 days
  • the bot is stopped, by you or because the server's plan ended, and is not resumed within 21 days

Bond then stops using your app, deletes the token once the bot has left the server, and deletes the data it received through your app within 7 days. It keeps these records:

  • records the law requires it to keep, such as payments
  • members' opt-out records, which hold only IDs and are honored everywhere Bond runs
  • short-lived safety logs that hold only IDs and expire within 30 days
  • your server's configuration, which you direct Bond to keep until you ask for it to be deleted

8. Discord's rights

If Discord tells you or Bond to stop using Bond as a Service Provider, or acts against your app, Bond stops your custom bot and offers to bring back Bond's own app. Your Server Max plan keeps running on Bond's app.

9. Suspension

Bond may suspend a custom bot that breaks Discord's terms or the acceptable use section of Bond's Terms of Service, because the bot runs on Bond's platform and standing.
