MEE6 alternatives in 2026
Six real MEE6 alternatives and what each one actually replaces well: Bond, Carl-bot, Dyno, ProBot, Sapphire and Arcane. Written by the team behind Bond.
We build Bond, so read the Bond section knowing that. Everything about the other bots comes from their own public pages and pricing as of August 2026. We have left out anything we could not verify, and none of these are ranked, because the right answer depends entirely on which MEE6 feature you were actually using.
Work out what you are replacing first
People do not leave MEE6 because of MEE6. They leave because one specific thing they wanted turned out to be on the premium side of the paywall, or because the module they need does not do quite what they need.
MEE6's own free-versus-premium comparison table lists most of the popular modules as premium, including welcome messages, moderation, reaction roles and social alerts. Premium as of August 2026 is $11.99 per month per server, with a $49.99 annual option and an $89.99 lifetime option for one server, and promotions run often. There are also separate products: Pro, which is per-user, plus MEE6 AI and AI Characters.
So the first question is not "what is the best MEE6 alternative". It is "which of those four or five things did I actually install it for". Answer that and the shortlist collapses to one or two.
Second useful thing to know: MEE6's AI products are content generation. /write produces text, /imagine produces images, AI Characters is roleplay. If you were hoping the AI would set up the server, that was never what it did, and only one bot on this list works that way.
The alternatives
Carl-bot, for reaction roles and logging
Carl-bot is best known for reaction roles and has a deeper set of options for them than anything else in this list. Its logging is the other half of why people install it, and logging is what a lot of moderation teams actually miss when they leave MEE6.
Replaces well: reaction roles, logging, and self-assignable role panels.
Use it if: role pickers are the thing you cared about and you want the deepest possible options for them.
Our shorter take: /alternatives/carl-bot.
Dyno, for moderation and automod
Dyno's automod is mature and most of it is free: word and link and invite filters, spam, mention floods, caps, with per-channel and per-role exemptions. If you left MEE6 because moderation was premium, this is the direct swap.
As of August 2026 Dyno runs $5.99 to $7.99 per month per server. Levelling is premium-only as of August 2026, and social alerts are on the top tier. Its own FAQ states it does not provide anti-nuke protection, which is worth knowing before you assume it is covered.
Replaces well: automod, moderation, mod logging.
Use it if: filtering message content is the job.
Our shorter take: /alternatives/dyno.
ProBot, for welcome images and levelling on the free side
ProBot bundles welcome images, moderation and levelling into one install, and the generated welcome image is the standout: a real image with the member's avatar and name, available without paying. Levelling is there too.
Replaces well: welcome messages with images, levelling, general-purpose bundle.
Use it if: you specifically want generated welcome images out of the box, which is a thing almost nobody else does for free.
Our shorter take: /alternatives/probot.
Sapphire, for a generous free tier
Sapphire's model is that features are broadly available and the limits are what scale, rather than whole modules being locked away. That is a meaningfully different shape from "this module is premium", and for a lot of mid-sized servers it means you never hit a wall on the feature itself.
Replaces well: general-purpose module coverage without a feature paywall.
Use it if: the thing that annoyed you about MEE6 was features being locked rather than usage being metered.
Arcane, for levelling depth
A levelling specialist: text and voice XP, rank cards and level role rewards. If your community's engagement runs on levels, a specialist beats a generalist module.
Replaces well: levelling, XP, rank cards, role rewards.
Use it if: levelling is the core mechanic of your server and you want it set up once and left alone.
Our shorter take: /alternatives/arcane.
Bond, for managing the server by asking
This is ours. Bond is not a module bot with a different paywall. It is an agent that lives in the server and does things when you describe them.
You mention @Bond and say what you want. It plans, tells you what it is about to do, asks before anything it cannot undo, then acts.
@Bond welcome new members in #general with their name and a link to the rules @Bond post a role picker in #roles for Gaming, Music and Art, and give the role when someone reacts @Bond track message counts and make a /leaderboard command showing the top 10 @Bond make #announcements an announcement channel that only mods can post in @Bond time out anyone posting invite links for an hour and log it in #mod-log @Bond group all the game channels under a Games category and put the staff ones at the bottom
Notice that those cross four or five different modules in every other bot on this list. To Bond they are the same interface.
Its tool catalog covers nearly everything Discord exposes: channels and categories, roles and permissions, messages, members, moderation, threads and forums, emoji and stickers, webhooks and invites, scheduled events, voice, persistent per-server data, bulk operations, and automation flows that run on events or on a schedule. Custom slash commands are real Discord commands with typed arguments, autocomplete and per-role access, registered in your server. There is a web dashboard with the same chat, and it works in whatever language you type in.
On permissions: Bond never asks for Administrator. Every action maps to the specific Discord permission it needs, and it is also checked against your own permissions and role position, so a moderator cannot use Bond to reach above their own role. Deletions get a Confirm or Deny bound to the exact target, and widening @everyone access gets a separate confirmation of its own. Bond does not hold Discord's Message Content intent, so it cannot read the text of ordinary messages in your server.
Pricing: every feature is on the free plan. Plans buy tokens and recurring automation capacity, not features. Free is 600K tokens a week. Pro is $7.99 a month for 6M a week, Max is $19.99 for 15M. Server plans fund a shared pool for everyone in the server at $7.99 and $19.99 a month. Token packs are $2.99 for 3M and $4.99 for 6M. See pricing.
Our shorter take: /alternatives/mee6. The longer head-to-head is at Bond vs MEE6.
Which one, by what you were using MEE6 for
| You were using MEE6 for | Closest replacement | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Levelling and rank cards | Arcane | Specialist depth, rank cards out of the box |
| Reaction roles | Carl-bot | Deepest options for role pickers |
| Moderation and automod | Dyno | Its automod is mostly free |
| Welcome messages with images | ProBot | Generated welcome images without paying |
| Feature coverage without a feature paywall | Sapphire | Limits scale rather than modules locking |
| Custom commands | Bond | Real slash commands, built on request |
| Running the whole server | Bond | Ask instead of configuring modules |
If two rows apply to you, running two bots is normal and usually cheaper than the one that does both behind a subscription.
What you will probably miss
Social alerts for YouTube and Twitch are the feature people most often miss when leaving MEE6. Dyno has them on its top tier. Bond does not have them at all. If that is load-bearing for your community, plan for it rather than discovering it after you remove MEE6.
Rank cards are the other one. Bond can track levels and expose them however you like, but it does not render a designed image card. Arcane and ProBot do.
And anti-nuke protection is not covered by anything on this list. Dyno's FAQ says so plainly, and Bond's permission model bounds what Bond can be used to do, which is not the same thing as protecting you from a compromised admin account.
When not to pick Bond
If you want one specific MEE6 module replaced and nothing else, a specialist is the better buy. Arcane for levelling, Carl-bot for reaction roles, Dyno for automod. Each of those does its one thing more deeply than an agent building it on request, and you can set them up once and forget them.
Pick Bond when the problem is not one module but all of them: when you are tired of four dashboards, or when what you want does not fit the shape of any existing module. And skip Bond if confirmation prompts bother you, because it asks before anything it cannot undo and there is no switch to turn that off.
